The WIllmar Mud Dawgs was established in 2017, Jarrett called and asked if I wanted to be a part of something big. I didn’t even hesitate. As we started to grow this thing, we said we wanted to do it the right way even if we lost every game. It was important to do it right. For me (Tim) it was about mentoring young men to become pillars in this great community and teaching these young men how to fit in a community different than the one they grew up in. As an 18-year-old kid in Willmar what is there to do after high school or a 20–22-year-old kid after college. We developed a program that allows guys who want to try and go further in life. For the guys who still loved the game we gave them opportunities to coach and potentially become owners of this program. My office doors are always open for the guys to come in, and I am always available to give life and business advice. After 6 years with some tough times, we are still going strong and changing lives 1 young man at a time.
The Willmar Mud Dawgs are in need of your support to continue fostering community relationships. Our team is comprised of players aged 18 and up and we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We rely on donations to help young men continue playing the game they love.
We have established guidelines and a code of conduct that all players must follow, including attending all practices on time, staying out of trouble, being positive role models for young children in our community, attending two community events, and representing all our sponsors with class.
Sponsors are vital to our team's success. We rely on their support to purchase new uniforms every two years, and this year with the new logo and name change, we require all new uniforms for our players. Additionally, funding from our sponsors is necessary for travel expenses, team equipment, such as tape, water jugs, tables, trainers, field rental, referees and league fees. In your sponsorship package you will also receive a copy of our code of conduct handbook we hold our players to.
